Fraud is constantly changing as technology gets more advanced and criminals find new ways to deceive victims. It's important that we do all that we can to stop fraud before it happens, to save more people from the devastating financial loss and emotional impact of becoming a victim to serious fraud.

Fraud costs the UK economy billions of pounds each year. We are working to reduce this impact. In 2008, the government allocated £29m to be spent putting into place recommendations made in a cross-government fraud review conducted by the Attorney General.
